汽车巨头战略失焦:Stellantis计划破产,行业面临生存危机
Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares' ambitious 2022 "Dare Forward 2030" plan, which projected €20 billion in software revenue, a 40% cut in distribution costs, and a complete shift to EVs in Europe by 2030, has faltered significantly. Just over three years later, Tavares has departed, and the company reported a €2.3 billion net loss for the first half of 2025, with a €3.3 billion write-off largely attributed to these plans. The company now acknowledges that many targets have become "increasingly challenging" due to evolving market dynamics and regulations.
This strategic misstep is not isolated. Volvo and Ford have also posted significant losses, and even Tesla's automotive business faces scrutiny. The global automotive industry is confronting an existential challenge, grappling with the decline of internal combustion engines and the rise of competitive EVs from China. However, a critical concern is the widespread lack of effective strategies among major automakers to navigate these unprecedented pressures.
The fundamental issue lies in the industry's traditional long-term planning model, which clashes with the current pace of change. Developing a new car model typically takes four to five years, making it difficult to accurately predict future customer demands, regulatory shifts, and competitive cost targets. As highlighted by Aston Martin CEO Adrian Hallmark, the industry's past approach of creating and executing plans is no longer viable in a landscape where predictions quickly become obsolete.
