NVIDIA announced a significant upgrade to its GeForce NOW cloud gaming service, integrating the Blackwell RTX architecture. This upgrade, set to roll out in September, promises RTX 5080-class performance, enhanced AI capabilities, and improved visual fidelity across all devices without price increases for existing members. The Blackwell architecture enables features like Install-to-Play, expanding the game catalog to nearly 4,500 titles by allowing direct cloud installation of PC games. New high-profile game releases such as Borderlands 4, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, and Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will be optimized for this new cloud hardware, offering instant access upon launch.

This technological leap brings substantial performance gains, including up to 62 teraflops of compute power and 48GB of frame buffer, significantly outperforming current consoles. Advanced ray tracing, AI-enhanced rendering, and NVIDIA's DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation will support streaming up to 5K at 120fps, while NVIDIA Reflex technology targets competitive gaming with streams at up to 360fps and sub-30ms latency. The service also enhances visual quality through a new Cinematic Quality Streaming mode and expands device compatibility, including support for Steam Decks and handhelds at higher frame rates, and LG monitors and TVs at demanding resolutions and refresh rates. NVIDIA is also expanding GeForce NOW's reach by launching in India in November, following its recent expansion into Thailand.

Furthermore, NVIDIA is deepening its integration with platforms like Discord and Epic Games to simplify game discovery and play. This collaboration will allow users to try games directly within Discord without downloads or a GeForce NOW membership, initially featuring Fortnite. The expansion of the GeForce NOW library also includes the addition of multiple Total War titles, enhancing its strategic gaming offerings. Ultimate and Performance memberships will retain their pricing, with Ultimate memberships offering the new Blackwell RTX experience for $19.99 per month.
